How2 Remove A Ring Without Cutting It Off, Safely!

GreatGets FTC Disclosure

After 30 years of marriage, last year Matt had no choice but to have his wedding band cut off his finger. His finger had become so swollen that it took almost a year for it to resume to normal and be ready to be fitted for a new classic 18k gold comfort fit wedding ring.  We tried everything >> ice cold water, soap, various oils and butter, and even windex & WD-40, to no avail.  What we didn’t try was this amazing ring removal technique demonstrated above by an ER doctor who says he has never, ever had to cut off a patient’s ring.  The doc uses the elastic from an oxygen mask but we think you could also use off the shelf 1/4 inch elastic or possibly even dental floss. You will also need tweezers or some other tool which can help you squish the elastic under the ring.  Not much else to say about this except we can’t stop watching this video of how to safely remove a ring without cutting it fff.  Just an FYI – it is worth slogging through the silly intro to watch the actual ring removal technique!
