At this point, most are familiar with the concept of a subscription box: for a set fee, subscribers receive monthly boxes filled with everything from snacks to jewelry. In this post, we explore some of the lesser-known, best subscription boxes on the market. These boxes are a fantastic way to find new and exciting products and provide the opportunity to try them out before you buy.  We’ve divided the list into a few categories: makeup & fragrance, clothing & jewelry, fitness & health, and home & family. Bespoke Post for men offers a beautifully curated monthly box. Each box has a theme; past themes have included “alchemy,” “aged,” and “frontier.” Products included in each box vary from artisanal whiskey to camping equipment to high-end shaving creams. They’ve certainly piqued our interest! Boxes are $45 per month with a monthly subscription, or $55 per month a la carte.

As its name would suggest, Scentbird offers a monthly subscription service featuring fine fragrances from a variety of brands and producers. Subscribers receive a 30-day supply of a new fragrance every month–allowing you to “date the fragrance before you marry it.” Boxes are $14.95 per month.

An GlossyBox subscription will get you a monthly box filled with samples of the latest and greatest in beauty and cosmetics. Boxes include products from brands like OPI, Kora, Too Faced and many, many more. Subscriptions start at $21 per month.

4. Julep

Julep’s monthly boxes offer subscribers the chance to either curate their own box or have Julep’s team pick for them. Members can also swap out products for different shades and colors. Julep specializes in nail polish–all of which promises to keep nails healthy polish after polish with special oxygen technology, toxin- and cruelty-free colors. Subscriptions start at $24.99 per month.

As much as we love all of the above featured boxes, we cannot in good faith simply ignore Birchbox. Birchbox remains the gold standard of subscription boxes and is hands down our favorite subscription beauty box.

5. StitchFix

Stitch Fix

StitchFix specializes in online personal shopping. Each month, subscribers receive a customized box curated by one of SitchFix’s stylists with selections based on each customer’s preferences. Should you choose to purchase one (or more!) of the items in your box, your monthly subscription fee is put towards the purchase–if you decide not to purchase any of the items in the box, that month’s fee rolls over. Subscriptions are $20 per month.
