Decorating Your Dorm Room
Shopping for college can be stressful. When I moved into my dorm last year as a freshman, I was not sure how to go about purchasing all the dorm room decor and necessities: from bedding, to a mini fridge, to dorm room decorations. I decided to buy most of my supplies at stores around my school, since I didn’t want to carry them on the plane.
If you are flying to college, one great idea is to have all your dorm room decor & supplies shipped to your school. You can pick up the packages at the post office instead of hauling boxes around on your journey. We have picked our favorite bedding, essentials, and decorations. And remember, don’t stress (this includes parents) and enjoy move in day!

Electric Tea Kettles
Electric kettles are great if you want to make coffee or tea in the mornings. They can also be used to make Ramen and Easy Mac, the college food items of choice :).

Standing Lamps
Standing lamps are wonderful at night when you don’t want the harsh fluorescent light on, but you still want to see! I had the blue lamp in my room last year and I used it almost everyday. It also has 3 different light settings, so you can choose the brightness.

Window Curtains
Quick Tip: One trick to hang up curtains is to use a spring loaded shower rod. Once you buy the rod, you can choose whatever shower curtain you like. Then, cut the shower curtain down the middle and to your desired length and voila! You have curtains that can open and close!
